Philips Fully automatic espresso machines: what the lights mean
Bean-to-cup (EP series, e.g. EP3347, EP4447, EP5544)
Philips’ bean-to-cup machines put warning icons on the control panel: a water tank, a coffee grounds container, a general alarm light, an AquaClean filter light and, on connected models, Wi-Fi. Philips’ support article lists what each means when it is on or flashing. The article applies to the EP models it names; on another Philips model, check your own manual.

| Water tank light on | Water: The water tank is almost empty, or it is not in place. |
| Coffee grounds container light on | Container or tray: The coffee grounds container is full and needs emptying. |
| Alarm (warning) light on, steady | Container or tray: The coffee grounds container or drip tray is not placed correctly, or the service door is open. |
| Alarm (warning) light flashing | Fault or blockage: The brew group is not in place, not placed correctly, or blocked. |
| Alarm light on and the start light flashing | Water: There is air trapped inside the machine. |
| AquaClean light flashing orange | Water filter: The AquaClean water filter needs to be placed or replaced, and activated. |
| All the warning icons flashing | Fault or blockage: The machine needs a reset. |
| Wi-Fi light flashing | Update or connection: During Wi-Fi setup: the machine is in setup mode and its buttons do not respond. |
| Wi-Fi light off | Off or no power: The machine is not connected to your home Wi-Fi: setup was never done, Wi-Fi is switched off on the machine, your home Wi-Fi is not working, the router, network name or password changed, or the router is too far away. |
