Keurig K-Duo: what the lights mean
Single-cup pod and 12-cup carafe brewer
The K-Duo brews a single cup from a K-Cup pod or a carafe from ground coffee, and its lights tell you which side is in use: POD and CARAFE buttons, brew-size buttons, a BREW button with an indicator light, a CARAFE light that turns red while the hot plate is on, an AUTO button, an Add Water light and a small clock screen. The brew indicator is the one to watch: it pulses slowly while the water heats (about 4 minutes the first time), goes solid while brewing and goes out when the brew is done.

| POD and CARAFE buttons blinking after you press POWER | Normal operation: The brewer is asking which way you want to brew: a single cup from a pod, or a carafe. |
| Brew indicator light pulsing slowly on and off | Heating up: The brewer is heating the water. |
| Brew indicator light on steadily | Normal operation: Brewing is under way. |
| CARAFE button lit red | Mode running: The carafe heating plate is on. |
| AUTO button lit and a clock icon on the screen | Setting confirmed: Auto Brew is set: the carafe will brew by itself at the time you programmed (up to 24 hours ahead). |
| Mountain icon on the screen | Setting confirmed: High Altitude mode is on, for brewing above about 5,000 feet. |
| Add Water light on | Water: The brewer wants water: the reservoir is low or empty, or it is not sitting properly on its base, and it will not brew until that is fixed. |
| All the buttons blinking at the same time | Fault or blockage: Listed under ‘Brewer will not brew’: a fault Keurig does not give a home fix for. |
