Data transfer (Bluetooth sync) symbol

The monitor is sending, or waiting to send, its stored readings to the maker’s phone app.

What it is for

Open the maker’s app with Bluetooth on so the readings can transfer. On Omron models a flashing Sync symbol means memory is filling up: transfer your readings “immediately before the monitor deletes the oldest reading.”

These pages report what each maker’s manual says and quote it wherever health is involved. They do not diagnose anything and are not medical advice; only your own monitor’s manual describes your model.

What it looks like: On the monitor, the Bluetooth mark, sometimes with arrows, a phone or the word OK. Our drawing shows arrows to a phone rather than copying the Bluetooth trademark.

Where makes differ

Omron has four related marks: Bluetooth ON (“Appears when your readings are being transferred”), Bluetooth OFF (“Appears when Bluetooth is disabled”), Sync, and OK (“Flashes when your monitor is connected to your smart device or readings are transferred successfully”). Beurer’s BM 54 has one “Symbol for Bluetooth transfer”, and on first pairing shows a six-digit PIN to type into the phone. Withings’ BPM Connect syncs over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and shows words on its screen rather than a symbol.

What it does not mean

It does not mean the measurement failed: the reading is already stored on the monitor. A flashing Sync on Omron is about memory filling up, not about the reading.
